Loctite's wide range of products can meet all customer requirements, and they maintain their ability to glue, seal and secure various types of elements from the first to the last drop of the product.
Product Design, Maintenance and Manufacturing Solutions
Loctite® work with Antifriction for Industrial Manufacturing and Assembly, developing Loctite solutions that:
- Decrease production costs
- Reduce assembly time
- Improve product reliability
- Lower warranty claims
A Loctite engineer can help you with a line audit, provide training for your team on new assembly methods and recommend process improvement solutions to achieve cost savings.
Using industrial adhesives as an alternative to mechanical fastening, welding and other joining methods can help business achieve a competitive advantage. If you're looking to reduce overall manufacturing costs, increase product reliability, or performance and operating life, then it's time for your to integrate adhesives into your design, manufacturing, maintenance and assembly process.
Wide product range
Our range includes water-based, solvent-based, UV curing, anaerobic, flexible, hot-melt and instant bonding and structural adhesives.
In particular, structural adhesives are the result of innovative, patented hybrid technology that combines the important features of epoxy and instant adhesives - speed and longevity. This powerful mix enables maximum performance on a wide range of substrates, and their versatility results in many more gluing solutions when tackling repairs.
Their formulation meets the increasing requirements of construction unit design and maintenance repairs with regard to:
- High-performance structural bonding
- Structural bonding of multiple surfaces
- Bonding to substrates that differ from each other
- Structural adhesives that pose low risk to operators
Threadlockers
Loctite's threadlockers resolve the common issue of bolts loosening, which occurs in most threaded assemblies. They are more practical than mechanical devices, which do not fill gaps between threads that fit together and do not maintain pretensioning, as assemblies fastened with mechanical devices often loosen in the presence of vibrations, thermal expansion and/or incorrect tightening.
These gaps are filled by LOCTITE threadlockers, increasing the reliability of threaded assemblies considerably, and preventing them from becoming loose.
LOCTITE threadlockers:
- Secure metal couplings to stop them loosening due to vibrations and knocks
- Seal and protect against corrosion
- Guarantee sufficient lubrication to obtain controlled torque when tightening
Developing for the future
In recent years, Loctite has put considerable research and investment into reviewing and reducing the environmental impacts of its products. Most recently the brand produced a new and improved range of adhesives, free from the chemical Hydroquinone (HQ). HQ is a chemical that can be harmful to human health and toxic to marine life. Most commercially available adhesives contain at least one or more chemicals that are classified as carcinogenic.
Loctite aims to be a pioneer in developing adhesives that are less harmful to both people and the planet. Visit the sustainability pages of Henkel, Loctite's parent company here to read more. One of Antifriction’s core values is sustainability, and working with like-minded suppliers is one way we pursue sustainable growth whilst being mindful of our environmental impact.
