In 1916, NSK became the first mass producer of bearings in Japan. Since then, the company has produced shaft bearings for jet engines, spindle inserts for spinning machines and in 1964, the first journal bearings in the world for what was at the time the world’s fastest train, the Tokaido Shinkansen which could travel up to 210 km per hour!
NSK has gone on to export its industrial components to countries worldwide, including the UK. All types of bearings

NSK tools and maintenance equipment
As well as offering a full range of bearings, Antifriction also offers other NSK tools and maintenance equipment. These tools can be utilised to help with mounting and dismounting bearings. Ensuring bearings are mounted properly is important, as it allows the bearing to perform at its full potential.
NSK also produces tools to help maintain equipment, including laser alignment tools and lubrication products. Using NSK’s laser alignment tools help to make sure equipment is properly aligned, which in turn helps to avoid potential stoppages and downtime. According to NSK, more than 50% of machines stop working during their lifetime due to alignment problems.
Development for the future
NSK employs technical experts, innovators and engineers to research and develop new technologies.
