Antifriction and GGB

Antifriction is proud to be an authorised distributor of GGB, a bearings supplier with a long history of manufacturing quality industrial parts for the US and Europe.

GGB was originally made up of Glacier and Garlock, two manufacturers with more than 120 years of experience in producing industrial parts. Garlock began in 1887 when Olin J Garlock patented his first industrial sealing system in the US. Glacier was founded by Cuyler W Findlay and A J Battle in 1899. In 1976 the two manufacturers established a joint venture and in 2018 the name was changed to
GGB.

Today GGB is based in Germany and manufactures a multitude of bearings, suitable for numerous industries.

All types of bearings

With over 120 years of experience in designing and producing bearings for industry, GGB is a trusted bearings manufacturer. GGB produces a wide range of bearings with different coatings, suitable for a number of different industries. Antifriction is pleased to be able to offer UK customers access to GGB’s full catalogue.

GGB’s catalogue includes bearings with polymer and metal-polymer coatings. Engineered plastics bearings, fibre reinforced bearings, as well as metal and bimetal bearings. The manufacturer produces plain bearings, composite bearings, self-lubricating bearings, bushings and more.

Bearing assemblies to avoid misalignment

As well as a huge range of bearings, GGB also offers bearing assemblies. GGB’s UNI, MINI and EXALIGN bearing assemblies have been designed to help reduce misalignment when bearings are under high demand.

Each self-aligning bearing assembly has been designed to be used with GGB’s metal-polymer and fibre reinforced composite bearings. The assemblies have been designed to adjust to micro-movements, which in turn reduces torque and friction, helping to extend machinery service life and keep costs down.

Making changes for the future

As an innovative manufacturer, GGB is always looking for ways to improve its products, both for customers and the environment. For instance, GGB’s self-lubricating, maintenance free bearings can replace bulky, greased or oiled bearings and have a smaller impact on the environment.

GGB has also worked to eliminate waste in its production plants in Germany and France. Antifriction is proud to partner with a manufacturer that is always looking for ways to reduce its environmental impact and improve its offerings to its customers.
